Stress and Anxiety

It is natural to have a certain level of stress, or anxiety, to keep us going and to face the day-to-day challenges in life as well as more threatening situations. However, when the balance tips, we can find ourselves suffering from the effects of too much stress or anxiety. Life can become a struggle. Symptoms can be psychological, emotional and physical such as:

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD is an anxiety disorder characterised by intrusive thoughts, images, worries and urges that repeatedly occur in the mind. This could be anything from checking locks, washing hands/body, going over certain phrases or numbers, hoarding etc. Working together in a solution focused way, we can enable the ‘rational mind’ to step in more often and start to take control again over the obsessive ‘primitive mind’ that stores and repeats unwanted thoughts and actions. This leads to new, healthy thoughts and behaviours that enable you to break free from the cycle.
